There is exactly one month left to submit your entry for the EDA Annual Awards of Excellence.The deadline is March 13.
The Awards of Excellence program is a benefit reserved exclusively for EDA members. It’s your chance to showcase the results of the work you do each day in Alberta communities. No one understands economic development better than our membership and this program exists to recognize excellence within it.
We have two award categories:
Community Awards – Recognizing a project or initiative that has delivered measurable impact.
There are four project categories, each awarded across three population sizes, for a total of 12 Community Awards.
This ensures communities of all sizes are recognized for excellence.
Individual Awards – Honouring professionals who have made a meaningful contribution to the field.
If someone in your organization or a colleague in another community deserves recognition, this is the time to nominate them!
Economic Developer of the Year – Recognizes an EDA member who has made a significant contribution to the economic development profession in Alberta.
Emerging Talent in Economic Development – Recognizes an EDA member with less than five years’ experience who has already demonstrated notable professional achievement.
Gerry Gabinet Mentorship Award – Recognizes an EDA member who has made a lasting impact through mentorship and support of others in the field.
The awards will be presented over 2 evenings at EDA Xperience 2026 in front of more than 400 professionals who understand the significance of your work.
We often hear great stories about the work our members are doing but those stories only get recognized if someone takes the time to submit or nominate!
