EDA Annual Awards of Excellence Program |
The Economic Developers Alberta (EDA) Awards of Excellence Program recognizes the province’s best economic development programs, partnerships and professionals that have made significant contributions to the profession.
Each year, at the EDA Leaders' Summit and Conference, we recognize the achievements of EDA members at our Annual Awards of Excellence gala event.
We recognize Alberta communities and individuals for their contributions.
If you are an EDA member you are eligible to apply for an award. It's a perk to EDA membership!
TIMELINE
- Call for Entries - January 2, 2023
- Final Deadline for Submissions - March 10, 2023 at 4:30 PM MST
- Awards Presentation - Thursday, April 13, 2023
ELIGIBILITY
Any EDA association member (voting or non-voting) that is in good standing and resides within Alberta.
ENTRY FEES
- Community Awards of Excellence - $115 (+ GST)
- Emerging Talent in Economic Development - No charge
- Economic Developer of the Year - No charge

Recognizes outstanding work from economic developers across Alberta and showcases best practices in economic development. There are 4 categories and 3 population sizes for a total of 12 awards. | Emerging Talent in Economic Development Recognizes an EDA member that demonstrates notable professional accomplishments to date with less than 5 years experience as EDO. | Economic Developer of the Year Recognizes an EDA member that has made a significant contribution to the economic development profession within the province of Alberta. |
In honour of Alex Metcalfe, one of EDA's founding members, and first President in 1974, this award is judged from the overall community award winners with one (1) best of show candidate chosen in each population size for a total of 3 Awards. | The President's Award This award is presented by the EDA President to recognize a member that has contributed to the Association. |
