Economic Developers Alberta aims to provide community leaders with the most up-to-date resources and best practice information on how to prepare for, respond to, and recover their businesses and economies from unanticipated disruptions, such as natural disasters or man-made crises.

We provide community leaders with relevant training, tools, technical assistance teams, reports, and capacity building projects that help increase community economic resilience.

Training

Jasper and Region Wildfire Response

Economic Developers Alberta is currently working with key government partners, and EDA members in the Jasper, Hinton, Edson, Yellowhead County region to support regional business and economic recovery efforts.

If you are a business in this region please fill out this online survey as soon as possible . Your feedback will help target recovery efforts and programs most effectively in the immediate and longer term.

Past Efforts

Since 2013, we have been building organizational capacity in order to provide ongoing information, training and support for our members with respect to disaster preparedness, post-disaster economic recovery, economic resilience resources, tools, event announcements as well as opportunities to connect with peers through social media groups.

As economic development professionals it is in our best interest to make preparedness and resiliency a priority, and that is why this is a core part of our programming. We are proud of our collaborative partnership with IEDC, and their Restore Your Economy division, as they have been key in helping us move our ongoing programs forward.
