One of our goals is to coordinate educational programs and workshops for Albertans involved or interested in economic development.
EDA offers a range of economic development training and skills development for our members. Our Introductory and Advanced Community Economic Development Training Program (CEDTP) provides timely and practical information to community economic development decision makers, business and community members and support staff. Completion of these courses may be applied to the Certified Economic Developer (EcD) designation, recognized nationally and internationally. Each course is worth 5 points.
We have also partnered with the University of Calgary- Faculty of Continuing Education to offer a Professional Management Certificate- Economic Developers in order to help advance the level of post-secondary training for the profession.
Our Economic Development for Elected Officials Course has been designed specifically to address specific issues that elected officials face.
EDA’s Scholarship Program helps members further their education in the field of economic development by offering financial support.
We also offer a range of other professional development courses and seminars throughout the year in order to meet the dynamic, changing needs of this sector.
Watch this video to learn how EDA's training programs can benefit you.
