The Outstanding Young Professional Award recognizes a young member who demonstrates notable professional accomplishments to date and shows great future potential. This award serves to enhance Alberta’s economic development profession by celebrating young professionals and promoting future leaders. Any member in good standing may nominate one or more candidate(s) for consideration.

Nominee Eligibility: An individual who is 35 years of age or under and is an EDA member in good standing and resides within Alberta.

Criteria: The following criteria are considered:

- 35 years of age or under as of February 26, 2018
- Currently employed in the economic development profession in Alberta
- A detailed list of the Nominee’s professional achievements to date and promise for the future, including:

    • Education and commitment to ongoing professional development
    • Professional accomplishments
    • Demonstrated leadership skills
    • Community involvement and/or volunteerism
    • Future career goals and aspirations
    • Commitment to the economic development profession
    • Letter of recommendation from the Nominee’s current employer

Procedure: To submit your nomination for Outstanding Young Professional, please include the following:

    • Online entry form
    • Letter of nomination
    • A detailed list of the Nominee’s professional achievements to date and promise for the future (refer to Adjudication Criteria at EDA website for complete list)
    • A current CV (resume) of the Nominee
    • A minimum of three letters of commendation (maximum 5). One from the Nominee’s current employer; two from the community at large (peers, clients, past employers, etc.). One must be from an EDA member
    • Any other information that may be relevant
    • A digital photo of the Nominee that can be used during the presentation ceremony

Entry Fee: There is no entry fee for this category.

Deadline: Entries are accepted until 4:30 PM, January 26, 2018.

Adjudication Criteria: The following form will be used to evaluate submissions.
