What I can offer
Paul has been active in economic development since 1995. My first 10 years were working as a municipal economic developer, from Researcher to Director. During that time I created a business-first customer services attitude that influenced the decisions of hundreds of entrepreneurs to invest in the communities he worked for. Since 2005, I have been consulting and co-founded MDB Insight in 2007. MDB Insight was acquired by Deloitte's Economic Advisory practice in 2022 and all 16 of our team members joined the new firm. My work has been with more than 200 communities, businesses and organizations including dozens in all corners of Alberta both small communities and large and Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. I have a broad area of practice but particularly enjoy business retention and expansion, investment attraction, tourism investment, industrial site assessments and forecasting, main streets and downtowns, sector analysis, workforce development, and marketing.
