EDA 2020 Annual Conference Update

Economic Developers Albert (EDA ) has been closely monitoring the public health situation as it relates to the spread of the COVID-19 virus and in keeping with the guidelines put forward by the Provincial government, we have taken the decision to postpone our 2020 Annual Conference.

The good news is, our 2020 Annual Conference will take place at the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge:

November 25 - 27, 2020

I know this may be disappointing news, but the health of our community is our top priority and we feel a postponement is the most prudent way to address the public health concern, while at the same time honouring our ongoing commitment to the economic development community in providing a unique forum in which to share resources and ideas.

What does this mean?

Conference Partners

If you are already a partner, we truly value your support through this time, and your sponsorship will be automatically transferred to the November event. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please reach out to Leann Hackman-Carty at leann@edaalberta.ca

Conference Speaker

If you are a speaker at our Conference, on a panel or plenary session, the agenda will remain the same, and you will remain on the schedule at the same time, same day of the week. If you have any concerns or questions, once again, feel free to email leann@edaalberta.ca.

Conference Delegates

All existing registrations for the Conference have been rolled over to the November dates. We understand these new dates may not work for some delegates. We would like to ask that you refrain from contacting us for the next couple of weeks if you have questions or need to cancel, as you can imagine our organization is overwhelmed from an administrative standpoint. Rest assured, we have no intention inconvenience any of our delegates. Our standard conference cancellation policy will apply.

Hotel Bookings

If you have an existing reservation at one of the hotels, your room is being automatically cancelled by the resort so there is no need to contact them by phone or email. We will have a link on our website in the coming days for you to re-book your room and will send it via email to existing delegates once it is live. The same prices have been guaranteed.

Annual General Meeting

If you are an EDA voting member, please diarize April 3 at 9:00 AM we will still move forward with our AGM by way of an online call. Stay tuned for those details.

Annual Awards of Excellence

Our Annual Awards of excellence will move forward as planned with the new dates. The current submissions will apply and we look forward to executing our improvements to the awards program at the November Conference.

Thank you for your support and understanding, and we look forward to seeing you in November!
